J/7 Video Music Awards 2004 - Rules

The following are the rules of the awards, though the judges reserve the right to impose further restrictions in the event of any abuse in nomination or voting.
  • Nominations are accepted from any member of the general public (including video creators themselves).
  • An individual can nominate up to 3 videos in each category.
  • An individual does not have to use up their full allocation of nominations, or nominate in each category. If you have just one video that you love and want to nominate then that’s fine!
  • You can use the nominations form more than once if you have not used up your allocation of 3 videos per category.
  • Any nominations received from an individual once their 3 per category allotment has been filled will be discarded.
  • Nominations can also be sent via email, especially if you just want to add to what you have already nominated
  • The same video can be nominated for more than one category.
  • Video creators can nominate their own videos.
  • The total number of nominations per vidder per catergory is unlimited.
  • Any Voyager music video can be nominated, as long as it fits the category for which it is nominated – it does NOT have to have been produced in the last year
  • Any videos released up until nominations close on 15th Sepetember are eligible for nomination.
  • It is at the discretion of the judges to switch the category that a video has been suggested for if the original category suggested is deemed inappropriate.
  • Once the nominations period has closed, the judges will decide on the final 5 contenders in each category that go forward for public voting.
  • The choice of the final 5 contenders in each category is at the judges discretion and their decision is final.
  • The judges cannot be swayed by bribery (unless it’s a really good bribe, maybe involving a weekend away with Kate Mulgrew on a secluded beach…)
  • Once voting is open, each individual can vote for one contender video in each category.
  • Each individual can only submit one voting form.
  • After submitting the voting form, corrections can be made to votes by email. You will need to quote what your original vote was for and what you wish to change it to.
  • Voting for your own videos is allowed (but probably frowned upon!)
